Young people are winning seats across the region
Across the Caribbean, a new cohort of young people is winning office.
In 2025, Roshanna Trim (born 1995) took a seat in the Senate of Barbados, and Kareem Marcelle (born 1995) was elected to represent Laventille West in Trinidad and Tobago. They are part of a wider shift the Inter-Parliamentary Union has been tracking worldwide. The network exists to connect members like these to one another.
